About Tweaks On ' Tiques

Tweaks on 'Tiques started years ago with a love for collecting antique furniture and parts of antiquities that could be transformed into timeless treasures for the future. We have a passion for finding the mundane traditional furniture to the unusual, from furniture that need just a fresh kiss to a piece of "junk" that only we know how to restore into making a rare one of a kind piece of furniture.

We use time tested, as well as the newest up and coming paints and finishes to achieve the best look for each piece that passes through our hands. We carefully repurpose, reconfigure, and re-imagine our furniture finds to provide for tomorrows heirlooms. Careful consideration is enacted to preserve antique furnishings that might otherwise fall from grace. Yesteryears craftsmen provide artful beginnings for a creative blend of the past and present.

MARY BETH LEMIEUX, OWNER, DESIGNER, AND LEAD FINISHER

"For as long as I can remember, I've always been interested in art and antiques. From the first time my mother showed me how to refinish a cedar chest, I've had a passion for antiquities.

I attended St. Mary's College, where I was trained to incorporate color into every artistic endeavor. Years later, I was employed in High Point, North Carolina screen printing on glass and wood for the furniture industry, where I also had the opportunity to develop colors and techniques for customers.

My next twenty nine years were spent raising my 4 beautiful kids while collecting antiques here and there. Now that my kids are grown I have had the opportunity to collaborate with cabinetmaker and designer Doug Wright and his cabinet company to create this new entity. This opportunity has allowed me to further develop my education on painting techniques to bring to you the finest finishes for my furniture.

Today, I repurpose and refinish antique furniture from the past to create new custom furnishings and accessories for today's home that can become heirlooms for the future. I use only the finest paints and stains to create functional and elegant custom home furnishings.

DOUG WRIGHT, DESIGNER AND MASTER CRAFTSMAN

Doug brings over 35 years of custom furniture and cabinetry design, while mastering his carpentry skills at the same time. His blend of creativity and building skills has been utilized throughout the midwest and east coast on many residential and commercial projects. Doug is a man of action and vision and will often take the concepts in his head right to the table saw! He has the ability to create from the most ordinary to the most extraordinary and everything in-between. If you have a piece of furniture that you would liked tweaked then Doug is the "go to man"!
